Ancient Civilizations

ANCIENT EGYPT



Ancient Egypt was a civilization in the East of North Africa concentrated close to the banks of the Nile River, due to the rich fertile soil how resulting of the annuals inundations, the Egyptians were thus able to produce an abundance of food; consequently they could devote and spent more time doing cultural things like artistic and technological pursuits.

The Egyptians recognized three seasons for farming: flooding, planting and harvesting, they cultivated wheat, barley and other cereal grains. Egypt received little rainfall therefore the ancient farmers had to water their crops relied on the Nile.


Egypt also was rich in natural resources like decorative stones due to this Egyptians built monuments, sculpted statues, made tools, and were able to created fashion jewelry; they also used salts for mummification. They were known for their architecture too, because it includes some of the most famous structures in the world like the pyramids.

The Egyptian language was such as Arabic and Hebrew this were used continuously before 3000 BC to the 11th century AD as a result this was one of the longest-surviving language in the world and was spoken in many dialects. The ancient Egyptian writing system is known as hieroglyphic and it was composed of some 500 symbols, each hieroglyph is a picture of a real thing, there isn’t explanation for exactly how the system was devised, but it was suddenly adopted and improved on.

They used to believe in the afterlife and also in many gods; they believed the pharaohs’ had a connection to the divine, and thus his role as a spiritual intermediary between the Egyptians and the gods. As a result, priests developed a system of oracles to communicate the will of the gods directly to the people. In addition they believed every human besides the body was composed for a soul, a shadow, a life force and a name. The heart, rather than the brain, was considered the seat of thoughts and emotions.


The civilization of ancient Egypt was based on a balanced control of natural and human resources under the leadership of the pharaoh. This civilization was recognized moreover for what I mentioned before for their government, economy, games, medicine, mathematics and their way to dress and the make up.
